M.I.T.A. makes techno with groove at its centre. From Ischia, the Italian producer Mattia Borriello draws on the raw, rhythm-led side of the genre, an affinity reflected in his admiration for producers such as Surgeon. His own releases on Suara, Virgo, Uncage and CROWD combine that club focus with a sustained interest in the detail of percussion and loops.
His DJ history includes fabric, D-Edge and Melkweg. In the studio, collaborations provide another route through his sound, including work with DJ Swisherman and the Chasing Ghosts EP with Carlo Lio. The latter marked Intec’s return to releasing music in 2025. Alongside those records, M.I.T.A. has developed sample packs focused on hardgroove, sharing the rhythmic material and production tools behind his own approach.
