Bio

Hannes Matthiessen is a Hamburg techno DJ and producer with roots in the city's Tunnel Club. Under the name DJ Scarecrow, he began a three-year residency there in 1997, developing his vinyl DJing alongside appearances at events such as Nature One and studio work with Chopstick. Releases under his own name marked a further chapter, with Elektrax carrying material across both identities. Later work has appeared on Dreizehn Schallplatten and Room 307. Vinyl remains part of his practice, documented in recorded sets as well as the club history behind his productions.
