With physicality at the forefront of the production, the focus is on the coalescing movement of crowds over inducing spectacle or nostalgic remembrance. Unclub’s perspective is informed by an architectural background and the current state of club culture, in which commodification and hyper-visibility have replaced the spontaneous and immersive spatial qualities of the club, as well as the music inside. These tracks are a straight shot in response to the current moment club culture has found itself in, with a forward-looking sentiment asking us not to return to the nostalgic, but to create something new.
