• See your self-releases and distributor-managed releases in one account
• Much higher chance to be curated or featured by our team
• Visibility across relevant genre pages
• Opportunities for homepage highlights
• Extra exposure for early artists on the platform
• Active internal promotion and social ads from Volumo
• Your music discovered by our community of pro DJs
Our catalog is growing fast. If you join now, your releases will gain significantly more visibility, as there are fewer artists, and we’re heavily investing in internal promotion and social ads. A unique chance while we’re still early!
Built for direct-to-fan, powered by our traffic
We want you to build your fanbase, understand your audience, and communicate directly with them. But unlike pure direct-to-fan platforms, you don’t need to handle all the marketing alone. Volumo is a store with its own DJs, buyers, and organic traffic. Your music gets discovered even with zero effort from your side. And when we work together in synergy, the results multiply!
Any artist or label that is not under some else’s exclusive distribution deal. You can use Volumo in addition to your current streaming or download platforms where you already have your music.
When will I get paid?
The Content provider will be paid for their sales within the 15 days of the calendar month (and usually much faster) following the month in which the purchase was made with a minimum payout of 10 euros.
Who sets the price? (How much is the fish?)
Imagine you are an artist and you produced a painting. You want to sell it, so you go to a gallery. But the gallery manager sets the price for your art, not you. You have no control over how much you will get for your work.
With other music stores, the same thing happens to your music. They set the price themselves, and you have no control over how much you get for your album. But Volumo is different: we let artists set the prices for their tracks.
Uploaded your music on Volumo. What comes next?
The Volumo team works tirelessly to ensure that your work reaches a broad audience, using smart promotions worldwide. Teamwork makes the dream work! What can you do on top?
• Share releases across platforms with purchase/pre-order links.
• Directly share your album link with friends.
• Mention @volumomusic and tag collaborators.
• Inspire followers with artwork, teaser videos, and previews.
• Manage and share to expand your fanbase and maximize creativity.
Does Volumo support streaming?
How many pro DJs do you know who use streaming for their gigs? 🙂 Volumo doesn’t either. We firmly believe that the 'download format' gives artists better chances to make waves.
• Much higher returns: 1 download = 500+ streams.
• Complete freedom: with a downloaded file, you can do everything you can with streaming and much more.
Streaming quality is great for “consumer” listening; in your car or through your headphones at the gym; for a gig, you need lossless sound.
We recommend artists and labels publish radio edits to consumers on streaming platforms, while at the same time making full-length, extended versions available for professional use for purchase on Volumo.
Can I edit or remove my uploaded music?
Yes you can, these changes can be made through the Content provider page. For editing and removing, click the unpublish release button, make the necessary changes, and click submit.
What music formats does Volumo support?
You may upload any of these formats: AIFF, WAV, FLAC. We will convert them into all popular compressed and uncompressed formats.
Can I deactivate my account?
Why would you want to delete your account before opening one? Don't worry we will still tell you how: if you are looking to delete your music click here. If you want to delete your account, you can find the “close my account” button under the "My account" main menu.
Can I still upload my music to other places (platforms, sites, download stores)?
Volumo’s Terms of Service doesn’t prohibit you from doing this unless, of course, it is a Volumo exclusive release, in which case the exclusive tracks should not be publicly available for download anywhere else during the exclusive period.
What does Volumo consider an exclusive release?
Volumo has a stricter notion of exclusivity than some other music stores: for commercial use, it should not be available anywhere else. But we do allow radio edits to be simultaneously available elsewhere as long as the extended versions are exclusive at Volumo.
At Volumo, we're committed to optimising your music's reach across various platforms. Streaming services are perfect for connecting with consumers who prefer radio edits, while Volumo stands out in catering to the professional market with extended edits. You may publish your radio edits on mainstream platforms, and strategically use the extended edit to promote your track. However, commercially, maintain exclusivity of the extended edit with Volumo for an enhanced and specialised experience.
Can I have multiple artists and/or labels in one account?
Yes, for sure! And unlike some other sites, you don’t have to pay anything for a label account: just add it to your account and pass an easy verification to ensure it is you uploading your music.
Do I still need my distributor?
More than ever before! For most music releases, distributors are absolutely necessary, as they keep the market cohesive by getting your music into every corner of it. Self-releases will never replace them. But it is nice to have the option to make a direct self-release for those special cases that don't fit the mass-market template. And Volumo lets your audience see your full body of work in one place.
